Company overview
Reformed IT is a managed IT and cybersecurity provider. Established in 2019, the company has grown steadily, specialising in supporting organisations across legal, finance, manufacturing and property management industries.
In this case study, CEO and Co-Founder of Reformed IT, Joe Burns shares his experience and decision-making behind adding CyberSentriq to their portfolio along with Michal Nowak, Senior IT and Cybersecurity Technician at Reformed IT, Josh Greenberg Head of Global Distribution at CyberSentriq, Dom Haughton, Senior Product Specialist at Brigantia and Chloe Mann, Sales Manager at Brigantia.
The challenge
Before moving to CyberSentriq, Reformed IT was experiencing limitations with backup and recovery through the product they were using. The main issues they encountered were around slow recovery and business continuity planning for clients. They also faced a significant gap around Microsoft Entra ID protection, with the previous solution not providing backup for Entra ID estates. This limited Reformed IT’s ability to fully recover critical services if an issue ever occurred.
Joe Burns, CEO and Co-Founder at Reformed IT, explained:
“Slow recovery means frustration for clients while they’re waiting for things to be recovered. If we can alleviate those pain points, it helps improve customer service.”
The Solution
At Brigantia’s Annual Partner Conference in York, Reformed IT were introduced to CyberSentriq. As a partner of Brigantia for several years, Reformed IT were already familiar with Redstor as a backup solution and became interested in CyberSentriq following a merger between Redstor and Titan HQ.
CyberSentriq brings both cybersecurity and data protection to MSPs through its platform that combines Microsoft 365 backup, Entra ID protection and data recovery capabilities. The product is designed to help MSPs restore services quickly and maintain business continuity for their clients.
While reviewing the market, Reformed IT found that many Microsoft 365 backup solution providers appear to offer similar functionality, which made it difficult to identify meaningful differences between solutions.
Joe Burns explained:
“The challenge was that it looks like most providers do the same thing. There’s very much a lack of differentiation in that market …
So, when we did look at CyberSentriq, one of the things that was attractive in the proposition was the additional backups of Entra … and the fact that we were able to do better business continuity planning with our clients because of the availability to just start to run the services in the cloud.”
The inclusion of Entra ID backup addressed a key gap for Reformed IT, covering not only users and groups but also areas such as Intune and conditional access policies. The platform also gave their team the ability to recover services quickly in the cloud, which helped strengthen their business continuity planning.
Dom Haughton, Senior Product Specialist at Brigantia worked closely with Reformed IT throughout the process, ensuring the solution aligned with both their technical and operational requirements. He shared:
“CyberSentriq was the perfect product to fit the bill for Reformed IT. It also provides unlimited storage per Microsoft 365 seat at a single cost, with 99-year retention, so it effectively gives unlimited retention per user and unlimited storage per user on a single licence.
"CyberSentriq is a perfect fit for Reformed IT. While there are many products on the market, their Entra backup offering stands out by covering all, not just Users and Groups, but the full Entra tenant including
Intune and Conditional Access.
When combined with its 99-year, unlimited retention per M365 seat, it has enabled Reformed IT to significantly expand crucial customer coverage without increasing costs."
Deployment and onboarding
Deployment was smooth with Reformed IT’s team able to roll out the solution quickly across their entire customer base.
Michal Nowak, Senior IT and Cybersecurity technician at Reformed IT described the setup process as simple and repeatable with minimal disruption to their daily operations. After an initial setup call, Reformed IT were then able to create a quick article for their knowledge base which allows any engineer to use and set up the solution quickly and consistently.
He explained:
“The deployment has been very easy … we’ve had no issues along the way.”
The entire process of Reformed IT implementing CyberSentriq across their client base was completed in around a month, taking just minutes to onboard each client. For customers with large numbers of clients, bulk import allowed for an extremely quick and straightforward process.
Partnership
Reformed IT’s partnership with Brigantia
Reformed IT has been a Brigantia partner for several years. Joe shared the value of the partnerships with Brigantia is through the ability to speak directly with Brigantia’s specialist team when evaluating and deploying new solutions. Rather than working in isolation, Reformed IT can access practical guidance and use Brigantia as a sounding board when reviewing approaches for different clients.
Joe Burns shared:
“The great thing about working with the team at Brigantia is there’s always specialists on hand to help with implementation of the solutions. They’ll jump on a Teams call with us and help us through and actually show us how to do it, rather than feeling like you’re left on your own devices.”
Beyond initial deployment, regular check-ins and roadmap updates are helping Reformed IT stay aligned with product developments and ongoing improvements.
CyberSentriq’s partnership with Brigantia
From a vendor perspective, Josh Greenberg Head of Global Distribution at CyberSentriq shared how Brigantia helps ensure channel partners are matched with the right solutions from the outset, helping to reduce misalignment and supporting effective deployments.
Brigantia Sales Manager, Chloe Mann emphasised how strong relationships with vendors like CyberSentriq, in addition to structured support, helps reduce friction during transitions and makes onboarding more manageable for channel partners.
The result
Since deploying CyberSentriq, Reformed IT has improved the speed and consistency of its recovery processes, particularly when restoring Microsoft 365 services for clients.
Faster recovery has reduced delays during incidents, which in turn has improved the experience for end users and reduced pressure on internal teams. Their ability to restore services more quickly has strengthened business continuity planning for their clients.
Now, with Microsoft Entra ID backup, Reformed IT has also closed a key gap they were previously faced with, giving them greater confidence that Entra ID identities, configurations and policies can be recovered if needed.
The simplicity of deployment has made it easier for engineers to roll out and manage the solution across multiple customer environments.
Ongoing support
Reformed IT continues to work closely with Brigantia as part of its wider managed service approach, drawing on technical expertise and ongoing vendor support to help deliver reliable services for customers.
The relationship has developed over several years, with Reformed IT working with multiple solutions across Brigantia’s security portfolio. Together, the teams continue to take a practical, hands-on approach to backup, recovery and Microsoft 365 resilience, supported by regular collaboration and ongoing technical guidance.
