The launch of new national Report Fraud service

Written by Chloe Schofield | Feb 27, 2026 9:30:00 AM

January saw the launch of Report Fraud, the UK’s new national service for reporting fraud and cybercrime. This new service replaces the old Action Fraud system and marks a huge milestone in how the UK fights against fraud and cybercrime.

About the new Report Fraud service

Report Fraud provides a single, efficient way for both individuals and businesses to report fraud and cybercrime, ensuring reports are turned into actionable intelligence for law enforcement. It also offers better support for victims, and it helps protect the wider economy at a time when fraud and cybercrime account for over half of all offences in the UK.

Former Brigantia Executive Director driving change …

A tremendous amount of work and expertise goes into the development of this type of service and we wanted to share how extremely proud we are of Dawn Wright, a former Brigantia Executive Director.

As chair of the City of London Corporation’s Fraud & Cyber Crime Reporting & Analysis Service Procurement Committee (FCCRAS), Dawn and her team worked with the City of London Police, the Home Office, HM Treasury and industry partners for the last three years to bring this service to life.

Dawn commented on the launch:

"It’s not every day that you start the morning with the launch of a new nationally important service, which you have headed up and worked on for over 3 years, but today, the 20th January, is that day. I am absolutely delighted and immensely proud to announce that the new £175 million national Report Fraud service has publicly launched today, marking a transformative milestone in the UK’s fight against fraud and cyber crime."

Looking forward
