BackupPRO Cloud Backup

BackupPRO Cloud Backup Solution is the ultimate ‘set and forget’ solution. The service is ideal for organisations with limited in-house IT resourses. This service utilises a backup agent which is installed on each server or workstation. Additional database plug-ins allow MS Exchange; MS SQL and a variety of operating systems to be automatically protected.e and simple monthly licensing.

The BackupPRO service has been developed for companies that want to migrate to a secure offsite solution but do not want to purchase the necessary hardware and software outright or take on the day-to-day management of the backup hardware and software systems.

This service is ideal for small to medium-sized businesses that have outgrown the capabilities of tape-based systems. It provides a faster, more efficient incremental backup process and also enables faster data restore times than traditional tape-based procedures.

  • Off-Site Data Storage. Data protection is ensured, even in the event of a disaster using off-site storage at the highly secure, fully resilient data centres.
  • “Incremental backup” – only the changes made to a particular file since the previous backup are sent to the Storage Platform. This clearly keeps bandwidth use and transfer time to an absolute minimum.
  • One to thousands of workstations and/or servers running different operating systems can be backed up to the UK data centres and managed via a single console.
  • Uses filters and file-level inclusion and exclusion to specify data to backup, restore and ignore.
  • Single management console allows administrators to control backup and restore processes and configure all clients remotely.
  • Data is encrypted in a variety of different ways and using a variety of methods, starting from the client’s machine. AES 256 encryption is standard with further encryption during file transfer and data storage, giving the customer complete peace of mind regarding data transfer.
  • Provided from two Tier 3 Level UK Data Centres. The network features high-speed gigabit links to multiple Tier 1 Internet Backbone Providers with extensive peering arrangements so you can be assured that your backed up data is always accessible.
  • Anywhere, Anytime Recovery. Specific files containing critical data can be recovered in seconds over a Local Area Network connection or the Internet at the push of a button.

KEY FEATURES

There are two key components to the BackupPRO Business Cloud Backup Service.

  • Primary Storage Platform: This is the back-end management software and data storage servers located in the secure data centres.
  • BackupPRO Professional Client Software: This is the application installed on the customer’s server, desktop or laptop that performs the automated incremental backup process and transfers the data in an encrypted state to the Storage Platform.

The Backup Cycle

As a standard, incremental backups from a minimum of 30 days to a maximum of 60 days with a 1 month-end roll-up are stored on the Storage Platform. The month-end roll-up contains the last version of each individual file that is selected for backup. Extended visibility of this data can be changed to suit the company’s requirement.

The Restore Process

Restoring files within BackupPRO is simplicity itself. The user selects the Restore Option and is presented with a list of previous backups by date and time. The system presents this information in two nodes: Last Backup and Previous Backups. The Last Backup option contains the file/folder structure of the last successful backup. Restores from the Last Backup are typically faster than those done from Previous Backups as the software may be able to retrieve the data from the local cache rather than the Storage Platform.
