By now, you will have heard all about how Exchange servers across the world have been hacked into en masse. What you may not have heard is how Heimdal has responded to this.

The vulnerabilities (CVE-2021-26855, CVE-2021-26857, CVE-2021-26858, and CVE-2021-27065) caused Heimdal to push out automatic updates to patch these vulnerabilities by default for all of its clients that needed it. Heimdal has also said that it is open to assisting any organisation which now has compromised Exchange servers, the organisations just need to get in touch.

What you may not put together form the above is why this is worth writing about. The answer is not too complex: many SMEs running these Exchange servers do not have the inhouse know-how to do such things as apply patches, and if their machines are not fully supported, or perhaps not supported by a company that is as responsible / responsive as it could be, then all that is left to sort the issue out is Heimdal’s software, running quietly in the background…

The again, that is what Heimdal Security is all about – sorting out such problems as soon as possible, without human intervention, so as to prevent the worst from happening. If you have not already looked into how Heimdal can protect you most assets, then you should get in touch and be put in touch with a Brigantia partner who can explain the details to you. Email partnersupport@brigantia.com or call 020 3358 0090 for more details.
